Woods at Sasan by 1000 Island is the first hand-crafted eco-boutique luxury resort and spa at the edge of Gir Forest, the only place where the majestic Asiatic Lions are seen in the wild. Built within an eight-acre mango orchard, Woods at Sasan espouses a sustainable concept using indigenous materials and craftsmen with minimal intrusions to the natural terrain and foliage… the resort and spa sport supreme luxury that is innate.
An orchard with over 280 mango trees, in the fringe of Gir forest is where all of Woods at Sasan’s accommodations are set. Our stylish studios, boutique pavilions and an exclusive villa, all have been designed and built using natural material from the area, combining minimalistic architecture with attention to detail where it matters the most.
Our custom-built furniture has been crafted using reclaimed teak wood recovered from Alang, one of the largest ship-breaking yards in the world. Each of our unique accommodation spaces has its own outdoor living area, which is catered to by the Terracotta Restaurant, our casual all day dining.
